Setting Up and Installing Your Kadence Child Theme
Welcome to our comprehensive guide for setting up and installing your Kadence Child Theme. We’ve crafted this tutorial to ensure a smooth and enjoyable experience. Let’s dive in!
1. Before You Begin
A few important steps to complete before you start the installation process:
- Update Your Website: Make sure your website is up to date and running the latest version of WordPress.
- Check Your Editor: If you are currently using the “Classic Editor” plugin, you need to uninstall it prior to installing your theme, or you can enable the Gutenberg/block editor in the plugin settings. Kadence is built for the Block Editor and does not support the Classic Editor.
- Existing Content: For websites with existing content, installing the theme will import the demo blog posts. You may want to pause any RSS-to-email feeds if you have this set up before installing your new theme. Once the theme is installed, you can delete the demo posts and restart your RSS feed again.

- Click Add New.
- Enter “Kadence” in the “Search themes” box. A few results will appear.
